1. Data Controller

Data processing is managed by Episodely, an independent project. We handle your data with the utmost respect and in full compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data Collected

We collect only the following information voluntarily provided by the user:

  • Email Address: To register you in the waitlist and notify you when the app is released.
  • Export Files (Vault): The ZIP/JSON/CSV archives exported from TV Time containing your watch history and, if present in the export, your friends list (as numeric identifiers).

3. Purpose of Processing

The collected data is used to:

  • Manage access-related communications and the project updates you asked to receive.
  • Provide the automated watch history import service in the installable web app (PWA) when you choose to use it after signing in.

4. "Reunite with your TV Time friends" Feature

Your TV Time GDPR export may contain your friends list. If you choose to enable this feature (it requires your explicit consent at import time), Episodely uses only pseudonymous numeric identifiers — your TV Time user ID and those of your friends — to check whether anyone on your list has also joined. We do not extract or store your friends' emails, names, or any other personal data. Matching only happens between users who have both registered on Episodely and uploaded their own export: when a match is found, both users receive a suggestion to follow each other again. You can disable the feature at any time; the identifiers are permanently deleted together with your account.

5. Security and Data Storage

All data and exported files are stored on secure servers located within the European Union. Each file is archived in a separate and isolated directory mapped to your email address, preventing file mixing or unauthorized access. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

6. Your Rights (Deletion)

Under GDPR, you have the right to access your data, request modifications, or ask for immediate deletion at any time. To purge your email and uploaded files from our database, please contact us at support@episodely.com or via reddit/r/TVTime.
