Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Episodely ("the Service"), operated as an independent project, you fully accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Episodely is a TV show and movie tracking application with social features (comments, follows, shared lists). The Service is provided "as is", without guarantees of uninterrupted availability.

3. Accounts and User Responsibility

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
• You can delete your account and all your data at any time from the app settings.

4. User Generated Content (UGC)

You are solely responsible for the comments, reactions, and lists you post. Posting content that violates our Community Guidelines — including harassment, hate speech, explicit sexual content, spam, or unauthorized copyrighted material — is prohibited. We reserve the right to remove reported content and suspend violating accounts.

5. Copyright Policy

We respect third-party intellectual property rights. Posters, artwork, and show/movie metadata are provided via The Movie Database (TMDB) public API and remain the property of their respective owners. If you believe user-posted content infringes your copyright, contact us at support@episodely.com with a detailed description and proof of ownership; we will review the request and remove infringing content within a reasonable time (DMCA-style notice-and-takedown process).

6. Plans and Payments

As things stand, Episodely is free and no form of payment is active: we do not sell plans, we do not collect payment details, and no user can be charged. We may later introduce optional paid plans (Premium/Supporter) to support development: their terms, prices, and the rules on billing and refunds will be published and accepted before any purchase, and essential features will remain free. Any expression of interest collected now (e.g. the waitlist or an "Early Supporter" sign-up) creates no contract and no obligation to pay.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Episodely is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the Service. The Service is under active (beta) development and may contain bugs or temporary interruptions.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Substantial changes will be communicated via email or within the app.
