Import your IMDb ratings and lists into Episodely.tv
IMDb export is self-service from the desktop site. You need separate CSV files for ratings and for lists / watchlist — after you sign in, upload them together in Episodely.
What it costs: nothing. Importing and exporting your data are free, forever — no card to enter, no ads, no cap on how many shows you follow. Episodely's core is free and stays free: what you don't pay for today won't end up behind a paywall.
IMDb menus can move
Site labels move around. We recognize the CSV by its headers — Const and Title Type — not by a fixed click path. Prefer desktop over the mobile app for export.
Method A: Your Ratings CSV
The ratings file: you usually download it from Your Ratings on the desktop site. What matters is the CSV shape — columns like Const, Your Rating, Date Rated, Title, Title Type.
- On IMDb's desktop site, you usually open Your Ratings (from your profile) and export CSV. Menu labels can move — what matters is the file you get.
- A typical CSV has columns like Const, Your Rating, Date Rated, Title, Title Type (and more). Const is the IMDb id; Title Type says movie, series, or episode.
- Each row with a rating becomes watched in Episodely. Title Type Movie, TV Series, and TV Episode are supported.
- After you sign in, upload the file from Home or Settings — together with other CSVs is fine.
Method B: Lists / watchlist CSV
Saved lists and the watchlist are separate exports from ratings. Same CSV family (Const, Title Type); rows without a rating become to-watch in Episodely.
- For each saved list or the watchlist, export a separate CSV — it's not the same download as Your Ratings.
- The file is still the same family (Const, Title Type). Your Rating is often missing; you may see Position, Created, Modified instead.
- Rows without a rating become to-watch in Episodely. If you only export lists, you don't get ratings — and the other way around.
- Upload one or more CSVs together in Episodely after you sign in: we detect the kind from the headers.
What gets imported and what doesn't
Transfers
- Ratings on movies, shows, and episodes
- Watchlist and saved-list titles as to-watch
- IMDb ids (Const) for matching via TMDB
Doesn't transfer
- IMDb reviews and free-text
- Social and followers
- Lists as named lists (they become to-watch items)
- App-only data, if the desktop export differs
Frequently asked questions
Do I need both ratings and lists?
Only if you want both. Ratings and lists are separate downloads — if you upload just one, that's all you get. After you sign in, you can still pick several CSVs at once.
What does Episodely look for in the file?
CSV headers: Const (the IMDb id, like tt…) and Title Type. If IMDb moves its menus, a file with those columns still works.
Can I export from the IMDb mobile app?
Prefer the desktop site. Self-service CSV export lives there; the app may not give you the same file.
Do my lists stay as named lists on Episodely?
No. Titles from lists and the watchlist land as to-watch items. IMDb reviews and free-text don't transfer.
