Frequently asked questions
Where do I download the backup from Simkl?
Visit simkl.com/apps/backup/ after logging in: you can generate and download a complete library backup in CSV format at no charge.
Which identifiers are present in Simkl CSVs?
The export includes explicit columns for TVDB, TMDB, and IMDb IDs, enabling Episodely to map your titles reliably and quickly.
How are TV show watch positions handled?
In Simkl's CSV backup, show progress is indicated by the LastEpWatched column (e.g. S03E15). Episodely follows the show and marks your progress up to that latest episode.
Do ratings require conversion?
Simkl already uses a native 1–10 scale: your personal ratings are imported directly with no scaling adjustments.
